Roxy is a 5 month old female English Bulldog. She presented for a bite wound to the right front paw. The neighbors dog bit her through the fence. The 4th digit was dangling and bleeding with an additional laceration of the 5th digit. Radiographs showed that the distal phalanx was fractured.

Surgical amputation of the toe was performed removing the entire distal phalanx, as well as a minor laceration repair to the 5th digit. Roxy stayed overnight with a bandage to prevent bleeding. She went home on pain medication and antibiotics to prevent infection of the wound. Her owner reports that she is doing very well. Stitches will be removed in 14 days.
